By Amber, on September 26th, 2010% I frequently gush about how much I love to support local businesses. But, I am willing to support a corporation if it is active in and supportive of the local community. Which is why I love and support REI! One of the great things about our local REI store is that it offers FREE weekly classes about a variety of topics. This summer, we have attended a class about climbing 14ers and one about general bike maintenance. Last week, we added one more class to our list: a presentation by the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.

By Amber, on September 25th, 2010% For the past 11 years, the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association has sponsored a Sustainable Living Fair to educate the public about sustainable living. The fair offers information on natural health and healing, natural eating, sustainable homes, local involvement, and more. There are also workshops for everyone in the family about how to make sustainability part of your life.
Ian and I volunteered at the fair a few years ago. We had a great time, so we decided to sign up again this year! We try very hard to live sustainably and to reduce our carbon footprint. . . . → keep reading
By Amber, on September 24th, 2010% Today, I am pleased to present another fantastic guest post from my good friend Ashlee over at Blue Side Up Photography! Enjoy!
From a home base in Silverthorne, CO, you can do just about anything in a day. You can mountain bike down Keystone, sail on Lake Dillon, and hike any one of the area’s awe-inspiring trails. For most of these adventures, furry friends need to stay at home. But for this trip, they can load up…just remember to bring their life jackets. In just an hour, you can be at the put-in for a fantastic and relaxing doggy rafting . . . → keep reading
By Amber, on September 13th, 2010% I can’t get enough of Goodberry Frozen Yogurt Bar. I heart it!!!
Sorry, my pictures aren’t great because we went to Goodberry last Saturday night as a special treat, and I’m still learning how to take pictures – good pictures – at night. Any suggestions? Nevertheless, I promised to document my Goodberry experience, and I was good and patient and took pictures of my yogurt before I inhaled it.:)
If you’ve never been to a frozen yogurt (fro-yo) shop before, there is a specific order you must are encouraged to follow:

By Amber, on September 9th, 2010% I love hiking! But, I’m always confused about how to distinguish a “hike” from a “trail walk.” What constitutes a hike? Are there specific guidelines that make a trail a hiking trail as opposed to a walking trail? I have no idea!
Either way, Ian and I took a lovely walk on a trail along Horsetooth Reservoir late Sunday morning. It was a perfect way to wake up and enjoy the day before the heat hit!
We drove up to Horsetooth to walk/hike around (I know, I know, we really should have ridden our bikes!). We decided to drive to . . . → keep reading
