By Amber, on September 26th, 2011% I couldn’t have asked for sunnier September weather on Saturday for the nine 70 5K! I had worried all week that we would get rain, but the sky was clear and the sun was certainly shining. And it was hot…maybe a little too hot. With the 9 am race time, the run was much warmer than I was expecting!
Ian come along to support me and took some fun pictures of the race. I actually warmed up a bit (something I rarely do). I jogged around the parking lot to get the blood flowing and loosen my . . . → keep reading
By Amber, on September 18th, 2011% This week wasn’t an epic fail, but it certainly was not as consistent as last week. I seem to alternate between super busy weeks and relatively calm weeks. I suppose that’s just life! Despite the inconsistent training, I was still able to fit in two runs and a sprint workout, which makes me feel a little better about all my days off…

Tuesday: 3 mile run (almost in the rain, mind you!)
Wednesday: Strength training with a friend from work. Having someone else watch me lift is very motivating! I don’t want to look like a weak fool!
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Sprints (complete with marching band…keep reading for the full story!)
Saturday: 3 mile run
Sunday: Yoga sweat session (we . . . → keep reading
By Amber, on September 5th, 2011% I’m all about honesty on I Heart Colorado. I don’t like to sugar-coat struggles or pretend that I’m perfect and training always goes the way I planned. If I’ve learned anything about training, and life in general, it’s that things don’t always go according to plan.
Last week was a subtle reminder that while I may think I’m back on track and back in the training game, sometimes life gets in the way. Thankfully, I’m not talking about injuries this time! I had several fun plans and social activities that interfered with my training. My week started out strong, but . . . → keep reading
