While I’m writing, writing, writing to finish my NaNoWriMo story by midnight on Wednesday, you should get out and hit up your local shops for buy local week!

Supporting local businesses is a great way to spend your hard earned money, and boost our economy. I don’t usually talk politics (and I’m not about to start now!), but I absolutely believe it is important to shift our shopping away from big corporations and toward local businesses. Gobble Wobble 5K

Yesterday morning, before I tore into potatoes, vegetables, pumpkin pie, and wine, I ran the Thanksgiving Day Gobble Wobble 5K! This race was all about having fun and enjoying the company of good friends and family.

The morning was pretty chilly so I bundled up, but I found myself stripping off layers throughout the race. When the sun came up, so did the heat! I felt great during the race and know that I will have a successful 5K next weekend.

The Little Bird Bakeshop

Sorry Cafe Ardour, I still love you, but I’ve found a new favorite coffee spot in Fort Collins: The Little Bird Bakeshop.

First and foremost, the coffee is amazing! I will admit that I am a coffee snob. Especially after spending three months in Italy, I am very particular about how coffee should be made and served. Little Bird simply could not be more perfectly Italian. The espresso is dark and rich, and the lattes are foamed to perfection.
